Monthly Challenges

Welcome to the Heard-Thomas Family Monthly Challenge page! Each month, we come together as a family to tackle a fun, engaging challenge that helps us grow closer, learn something new, or give back to our communities.

Reach Out & Reconnect

Spring is a time for renewal, growth, and fresh starts. This month’s challenge is all about strengthening bonds and rekindling relationships. It’s your opportunity to reach out to someone you haven’t connected with in a while—be it a family member, a long-lost friend, or someone in your community—and create new memories that add to our shared legacy.

Pick at least one of the activities below to reconnect with someone important to you. Not only will you deepen your personal relationships, but you’ll also help weave the rich fabric of our family’s history.

Call or Video Chat with a Family Member

Schedule a phone or video call with a relative you haven’t spoken to recently. Catch up on life, share a few laughs, and reminisce about old times.

Take a moment to write a heartfelt note or card. Whether it’s a simple “I miss you” or a longer message sharing a cherished memory, your words can make someone’s day.

If possible, plan a small get-together—whether for coffee, a meal, or even a virtual hangout. Use this time to reconnect, share stories, and create new family traditions.

Reach out to a family member and ask them to recall one of their favorite memories from a past family gathering. Collect these stories and consider sharing them in our next newsletter to inspire and uplift everyone.

Wrap-Up:

Every connection we nurture helps build a stronger, more resilient community. This April, let’s bridge distances, share our stories, and create new moments of togetherness. We can’t wait to hear about your reconnections and the positive ripples they create.

““Relationships are all there is. Everything in the universe only exists because it is in relationship to everything else. Nothing exists in isolation. We have to stop pretending we are individuals that can go it alone.” – Margaret J. Wheatley.
